Coronavirus: Dubai Police checkpoints monitor illegal movement of workers
(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Movement of workers are being closely monitored by the Dubai Police in a bid to prevent inter-emirate travel of workers.
Colonel Juma Salim Bin Suwaidan, deputy director of the Dubai Police's traffic department, said there are checkpoints where the patrols are deployed. "All patrols have been told to monitor the movement of workers in the construction sector and to stop buses that do not follow the directives," he said.
"Those using personal vehicles to enter the city are also being monitored," he added.
"The movement restriction procedure of workers is to ensure they are not in contact with those from other emirates. It is part of the precautionary steps taken by the UAE to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic," said Bin Suwaidan.
