Roadside blast injures 3 in Afghanistan

Esmatullah Muradi, provincial government spokesman in Kunduz province of Afghanistan, said that Chardara district governor in Kunduz province and his two bodyguards were injured in a roadside blast on Sunday.

He was quoted saying that "Hafizullah Safi the governor of Chardara district was going to inspect a development project in a village today morning but a mine planted by militants struck his car wounding him and two of his bodyguards".

the official also added that an investigation was started in the case.

Chardara and Dasht-e-Archi districts have been witnessing Taliban-led militancy over the past decade.
