(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Cairo, Aug. 8 (Petra)- The Arab League called on international organizations and institutions to counter Israeli government's decision to build 2300 new settlement units in the West Bank, describing the move as "a grave violation of the international legitimacy resolutions," which would sabotage the two-state solution.
In a press statement released on Thursday, Dr Saeed Abu Ali, Arab League Assistant Secretary General for Palestinian and Occupied Arab Territories Affairs, said Israel's step and its ongoing aggression have become a real test to the seriousness of the international community and its keenness to protect its resolutions.
In this context, the bloc reiterated its continued support for the steadfastness and rights of the Palestinian people.
On int'l intervention, the League highlighted the importance of the international organizations' role to stop the ongoing Israeli crimes and to implement the relevant international resolutions to provide the Palestinian people with the necessary protection.
