Jordan- Police seizes 106 unlicensed weapons


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, July 17 (Petra)-83 people were caught in possession of 106 unlicensed firearms during the thirdweek of the security crackdown on the possession of unlicensed weapons, the Public Security Directorate (PSD) said in a statement on Wednesday.
A total of 213 people were held in possession of 247 firearms since the beginning of the security campaign, the statement revealed.
"The security campaign will continue to curb unlicensed weapons, according to its inspection, operational and investigative procedures," the statement indicated.
The PSD called on citizens to support the campaign to overcome this phenomenon, which threatens and endangers the safety of the society, urging the public to call 911 and report any shooting incidents.
