Jordan to attend Bahrain workshop
(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, June 22 (Petra) -- Jordan has decided to participate in the US-sponsored workshop in Bahrain on June 25 and 26, where the Kingdom will be represented by the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Finance, a spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates announced on Saturday.
Jordan's participation in the economic workshop comes to learn firsthand about the theme of the event, Sufian Qudah, an Ambassador at the ministry and its official spokesperson said, affirming that no economic proposal can replace a political settlement to the conflict which must be resolved according to the two-state solution.
Qudah also emphasized that Jordan will deal with any political or economic proposal put forward at the event in accordance with its unwavering principles and will turn down anything that proves inconsistent thereof.
The spokesman reiterated that the two-state solution that guarantees the establishment of an independent state on pre-June 1967 lines on Palestinian soil with East Jerusalem as its capital is the only way to end the conflict and bring about comprehensive peace and stability in the Middle East.
