Ten people killed by Baghdad Husseiniya blast
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BAGHDAD, June 21 (KUNA) -- Ten people were killed on Friday when an explosion ripped through a Husseiniya mosque in eastern Baghdad, police said.
A police source told KUNA that a suicide bomber detonated his explosive belt inside Hussainiya of Imam Al-Muntathar in the Baladiyat area east of Baghdad.
The explosion killed 10 people and injured about 30 others, who were taken to hospital for treatment, it added.
The explosion was the first of its kind against husseiniyas and mosques for months after the defeat of the so-called Islamic state or Daesh in Iraq. (end)
