KUWAIT, May 29 (KUNA) -- 1892 -- Sheikh Mohammad bin Sabah Alآ­Sabah assumed rule of the country, becoming the sixth ruler of Kuwait. His rule lasted till 1896 which enjoyed internal stability.
1940 -- Late Amir Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber issued the law of divers for the organization of diving profession.
1984 -- Late Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah issued a law on shareholding companies and stock exchange.
1997 -- Kuwait became the 91st state that ratified The Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production, Stockpiling and Use of Chemical Weapons and on their Destruction (the Chemical Weapons Convention or CWC).
1999 -- First elderly care clinic opened in Rowda area.
2009 -- Kuwait's Amir His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah issued a decree forming the 27th cabinet headed by His Highness Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad and included 15 ministers including one woman.
2013 -- National Assembly approved a bill on promotion of direct investment.
1892 -- Sheikh Abdullah bin Sabah, known as Abdullah II passed away.(end).
