Jordan- RJ distributes food aid for needy families
Amman, May 21 (Petra) -- Royal Jordanian (RJ), in partnership with Tkiyet Um Ali charity organization, distributed food parcels to tens of impoverished families in Madaba, as part of its annual Ramadan Campaign.
RJ said in a statement on Tuesday that its volunteers also visited the homes of needy families in Umm al-Rassass, an underprivileged community with poor services.
Over the past week, some RJ staff joined in preparing food parcels with 24 food items enough for a family for one month.
RJ also organized an iftar (fast-breaking meal) for 70 visually impaired individuals in Zarqa, in which a number of its employees took part. Clothing items for the Eid Al Fitr (feast) were also distributed during the dinner.
Yesterday, RJ also sponsored one day of "Mawaed Al Rahman" iftar banquets, which Tkiyet Um Ali holds every Ramadan. Over 2,000 individuals attended the iftar, where RJ volunteer staff members served meals to the beneficiaries.
Royal Jordanian launches the annual Ramadan Campaign that includes charitable and goodwill activities to cater to the needs of poor families across the Kingdom.
