Moderate earthquake startles central Greece
(MENAFN) The Geodynamic Institute of Athens' National Observatory declared that an earthquake of a 5.3 magnitude has rocked central Greece on Saturday.
Greek national news agency AMNA confirmed that no victims have been reported till now to local authorities.
preliminary estimates by Greek seismologists revealed that the quake's epicenter was determined 14 km deep into the sea area of the Gulf of Corinth near the towns of Galaxidi, Amfissa, Itea and Aigio, about 135 km west of Athens.
Earlier the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center had put the magnitude at 5.2 before reviving it.
