Kuwait- Greek pres. lauds His Highness Amir's role in achieving stability in region
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, March 15 (KUNA) -- Greek President Prokopis Pavlopoulos commended on Friday His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah's role in maintaining the region's stability and efforts to achieve peace amongst peoples.
This came during a meeting held between Pavlopoulos and Kuwait's Minister of Finance Nayef Al-Hajraf in Athens on the sidelines of the first session of the Kuwait-Greece ministerial committee for economic and technical cooperation, Kuwait's Ministry of Finance said in a statement.
The Greek leader also praised Kuwait's pioneering and outstanding role in humanitarian action, the statement added.
Meanwhile, Al-Hajraf said Kuwait and Greece have distinguished historical and diplomatic ties tracing back to 1964.
He expressed his delight for the meeting of the ministerial committee in Athens, hoping that it would make positive and distinguished results to serve the common interest of the two friendly countries in economic and investment fields.
During the meeting, Al-Hajraf conveyed greetings of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah to the Greek President, the statement pointed out.
The meeting was attended by Kuwait's Ambassador to Greece Saud Al-Dowaish and Assistant Undersecretary for Economic Affairs at the Ministry of Finance Nabil Al-Abdul Jalil. (end) khm.tb.hm
