Jordanian Senate passes 2019 budget with spending hikes


(MENAFN) The Jordanian Senate was announced to have approved of the 2019 draft state budget bill, presenting hikes in the overall expenditure.

Total public expenditure in the budget for this year accounted for around USD13 billion, up about USD616 million from last year.

The general revenues in the budget stood at USD12.14 billion, while domestic revenues dedicated roughly USD11 billion and foreign grants amounted for almost USD846 million.

Budget deficit, excluding foreign financial aid, contributed with 2 percent of the GDP with estimation to hit USD911 million.
