Shares of SEEK up


(MENAFN) Shares in SEEK, the job ads portal have increased about 2 percent, after it escalated first-half profit and tipped full-year profit to be at the upper end of guidance.

The online job-search company has booked a 21 percent increase in profit to USD102 million for the six months to December 31, prompted by a sharp jump in revenue.

Sales revenue has increased 27 percent to USD620.3 million, from USD487.9 million a year earlier, when weak economic conditions in Brazil and South-East Asia affected the company's international division.

According to chief executive, the company was beginning to benefit from investments in its international businesses, with the division's revenue up 12 percent to USD340.1 million.
