Republican Mitt Romney to run for Utah Senate Seat
(MENAFN) Republican former presidential candidate Mitt Romney has revealed he was running for a Utah Senate seat.
In his post on Twitter, he confirmed "I am running for United States Senate to serve the people of Utah and bring Utah's values to Washington," he added "the right time to serve our state and our country."
Romney is seeking to succeed Orrin Hatch, who declared his retirement after serving the longest period of time as a Republican senator.
The Republican has been a candidate for the 2012 presidential election when Democratic Presidnet Obama claimed victory in the general election.
