(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The Gorkha Service Society (GSS) organised a cultural programme marking its 14th anniversary at Al Dosari Park in Shahaniya recently. The cultural programme was presided over by GSS Chairman Rakesh Shrestha. R K Sharma, Gulf co-ordinator of Non-Resident Nepalese Association (NRNA), was the chief guest. The formal programme featured a number of speeches. The newly-elected members of the NRNA-National Co-ordination Council were honoured at the programme. GSS also released its annual magazine at the programme. A cultural programme followed the formal proceedings, with GSS dancers Sima Gurung, Roshan Tamang, Bishnu Gurung and Pramila Tamang presenting a group performance. Folk artistes Babita Baniya, Bhawana Acharya and Chij Gurung also performed. Singer Reet Kumar Shrestha performed a folk song from his own album. Following Shrestha, artistes with Fewa Cultural Family performed a national song, Bhabin Rai performed a song and Nepali Cultural Center artistes presented a dance. The programme was hosted by Rajeshowr Dhakal.
