Jordan- Parliamentary committee, Turkish ambassador discuss cooperation
(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Nov. 20 (Petra) -- Chairman of the Jordanian-Turkish Parliamentary Friendship committee MP Mohammad Ayasrah on Monday discussed with Turkish Ambassador here Murat Karagoz issues of mutual concern and ways to foster bilateral relations in the various fields.
Talks during the meeting touched on means to bolster mutual parliamentary and socio-economic ties, Ayasrah said, lauding the two countries' ties as "historic and long-standing".
He said Ankara's role in Mideast issues is "key and influential," urging the dire need to step up exchanging visits, a bid aimed to emerge with closer stances to better serve joint issues.
Combating terrorism and extremism, and increasing financial aid to the Kingdom to handle the Syrian refuge crisis were also highlighted.
The envoy, on his part, lauded Jordan's efforts in regard to regional issues, namely the Palestinian cause, and underscored diverse repercussions of the Syrian refugee ordeal on the country, though it encounters financial woes.
The Turkish diplomat also said his country supports solutions to end Mideast conflicts, commending the Kingdom's Parliament role on regional and international arenas.
