
Kuwait- Cabinet condemns failed Houthi 'missile attack' on Saudi capital

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 7, (KUNA): The Cabinet on Tuesday fiercely condemned the recently thwarted ballistic missile attack on the Saudi capital, Riyadh, carried out by the Houthis, saying the incident shows the group is 'not serious' about peace. 'This sinful assault by the Houthis, which targeted the security and stability of the Kingdom (of Saudi Arabia), proves that this group (Houthis) is not serious in responding to international efforts which aim to put an end to the confl ict in Yemen,' said the ministers.
According to a statement, the ministers during their weekly session expressed Kuwait's support and backing of the measures taken by Saudi Arabia to maintain its security and stability under the wise leadership of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud. Separately, they expressed extreme sorrow over the aircraft crash incident which led to the loss of Saudi Arabia's Aseer Province Deputy Governor Prince Mansour bin Muqren bin Abdulaziz and several other officials.
Condolences
They went on to express their condolences over the loss to both the Saudi King and the families of the victims. Meanwhile, the Cabinet at their weekly session at Bayan Palace on Tuesday welcomed next week's visit to the country by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. At the session, chaired by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, the ministers also reviewed the Audit Bureau's annual budgetary assessment report of ministries and public institutions.
The Cabinet also condemned as 'criminal acts' the running over attack in New York and the shooting incident in a Texas church both of which left scores dead and injured. At a Cabinet session chaired by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, ministers said these 'criminal acts that target the lives of peaceful innocents negate all laws, human values and religions.' According to a statement, the ministers also expressed Kuwait's solid stance in rejection of all forms of terrorism. They also expressed support of the international community's efforts to combat terrorism.
