Turkmenistan celebrates Independence Day

Turkmenistan celebrates the 26th anniversary of its independence on October27-28, and these days have been declared holidays.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov congratulated the citizens of the country.

'Twenty-six years ago, with the declaration of independence, the foundation of a democratic, legal and secular state, as well as political, economic and cultural development of our homeland was laid, the president said.

'Large-scale work that indicates the dynamic development of the national economy and the state as a whole, is being carried out in the oil and gas industry, agriculture, construction, energy, culture, science and education, as well as in healthcare, sports and tourism, Berdimuhamedov added.
