
Turkey preparing for offensive on Syria's Afrin

The Turkish armed forces are preparing for offensive on the Syrian city of Afrin, which is under the control of PYD (Kurdish Democratic Union Party) troops, the Turkish media reported Oct. 26.
New military operations in Afrin will be held jointly with the Free Syrian Army, according to the report.
On Oct. 25, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that new military operation may be held in Afrin.
Turkey has been moving military equipment to its border with Syria since June 21.
Military equipment was deployed in Turkey's south-central province of Kilis, which borders Syrian territories controlled by YPG and PYD.
