Matt Cummings of AECOM Appointed New ARTBA Chairman

(MENAFNEditorial) LOS ANGELES, Sept. 28, 2017 /PRNewswire/ --Matthew Cummings, an executive vice president at global infrastructure firm AECOM, has been appointed chairman of ARTBA for 2017 - 2018. The American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA) was established in 1902 with the mission to grow and protect transportation infrastructure investments to meet the public and business demand for safe and efficient travel.

AECOM Among one of the youngest to step into this role, Matt Cummings has participated in several ARTBA leadership positions since becoming a member over 10 years ago. His top priorities as chairman of the organization include: providing meaningful input and support for fixing the Highway Trust Fund, promote new investments in the National Highway Freight Network, and boosting the airport construction program through passage of a multi-year aviation bill that increases Airport Improvement Program funding.

Matt Cummings first started working for AECOM 25 years ago as an engineer; today he leads the corporation's $2 billion transportation business in the Americas. In 2013, he took an interim international assignment leading AECOM's Civil Infrastructure business in Doha, Qatar where he served as Program Executive for a $10 billion project portfolio. As an advocate for transportation market development, a key focus for Matt will be working with the federal administration to enact a permanent Highway Trust Fund fix that provides the necessary revenue to secure this industry. Finally, Matt plans to engage ARTBA officers and directors, the Industry Leader Development Council, and Women Leaders Council for "peer-to-peer" membership development outreach targeting key firms and potential new chapters, and to greater leverage programs aimed at developing the industry's workforce.
