Turkish forces kill 4 PKK militants
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ISTANBUL, Sept 9 (KUNA) -- At least four members of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) were killed in military operations by Turkish forces in Diyarbakir and Kars, south and east of Turkey, said a military source.
A statement by the Turkish authorities on Saturday indicated that the operations were carried out by the Air Force, adding that the ground forces were able to seize weapons and ammunition from the sites yesterday.
Turkey had been executing continuous military operations against the PKK locations in different parts of Turkey as well as in northern Iraq. The operations are a response to several terrorist attacks carried out by PKK on citizens and security forces in the country. (end) to.ag
