Oman allocates 3mn of natural gas for LPIC project

(MENAFN) Oman has allotted 3mn standard cubic meters per day of natural gas as feedstock for the USD6.5bn Liwa Plastics Industrial Complex (LPIC) project is under application.

The allocation is coming among supply constraints that have limited gas shares to only vital consumers like power generation and water desalination schemes.

Accordingly, the country have been allocated 3.0 mmscm3/d of gas for 20 years, while the coming LPIC's commissioning, polymers production will grow by 1.1mn tons.

The LPIC scheme is the biggest of three strategic growth projects, while the other two being the Sohar Refinery Improvement Project and the Muscat-sohar Product Pipeline.
