Gas Consumption in Oman grow in 7.4%
(MENAFN) Oman's total gas consumption raised surprisingly 7.4% during H1 this year, and that is the result of the increased demand from oilfields and industrial projects.
According to statistics released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI), the Sultanate's consumption of gas rose to 20.463 million cubic meters (mncm) in H1 of this year, in contrast with 19,061 mncm last year in the same period.
Furthermore, gas used in the oilfields jumped by 12.5% to 4,651 mncm, accounting for approximately 23% of total consumption.
Gas consumption in power generation also declined by 2.3%, from 3,943 mncm to 3,853 mncm.
