Kuwait bans import of live birds from Holland
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, July 11 (KUNA) -- The Public Authority of Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAFR) banned import of all types of live birds from Holland, due to confirmed cases of H7N9 bird flu in the country.
All imported livestock must commit to the authority''s rules and regulations, in accordance with the terms of the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) and animal health laws of the GCC countries, said PAAFR in a statement on Monday.
After examining the animals by the authority''s laboratories, infected animals will be sent back to the country of origin and costs will be paid by the importer, it added.(end) mf.ag
