Toyota US logs 5.6pct dip in sales over June
(MENAFN) Toyota Motor Sales USA Inc.'s June sales declined 5.6 percent to 198,257, mainly affected by a plunge in the Toyota brand's cars and light trucks.
Truck sales were basically hurt by availability issues, plus Toyota Division sales fell 7.6 percent to 166,299 and Lexus brand's sales decreased 1.3 percent to 25,779.
However, the industry as a whole typically is stronger in the second half, as one company executive stressed, hence the same is projected for the top carmaker.
"Lexus has traditionally always been a strong second-half team. We look forward to the summer selling season," stated Lexus Division's vice president for sales.
