Suzuki faces investigation over incorrect fuel tests
(MENAFN) Suzuki Motor, the Japanese top automaker declared that it has been using wrong fuel efficiency and emission testing methods on 16 models currently being sold in Japan.
It appears that Suzuki's improper testing method dates back to 2010 and that almost 2.1 million vehicles were effected, excluding Suzuki-badged models sold abroad.
In more detail, during tests, the carmaker measured data related to tires, brakes and transmissions, before combining the results with air resistance tests in a wind tunnel.
All in all, fuel economy compliance has been under the microscope ever since Mitsubishi come clean about overstating the ratings of 4 of their small models by as much as 10pct.
