Iran seeks to become region's top LPG supplier

(MENAFN) Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), as a clean, abundant and cheap form of energy, can address many of the world's energy challenges and Iran is to become the Middle East's largest LPG supplier in the post-sanctions era.

Many of the current energy challenges that are facing the world like lack of access to clean energy, air pollution and growing GDP are producing demand for LPG, particularly for residential use since LPG is a unique source of energy in a bottle.

In accordance, the Islamic Republic is working very hard to accelerate the development in many key potential markets since strategically it is in the interests of Iranian producers to have markets to export into right now.

"The countries where the demand is going to be the greatest are close-by; we are looking at southern Southeast Asia, we are looking at east Africa and sub-Saharan Africa," stated a top Iranian official.
