Alstom seeks major projects in Turkey
(MENAFN) Alstom, the French multinational firm operating in the worldwide rail transport markets, intends to bid in a tender for high-speed rail in Turkey and would spend USD110 million on a production plant.
In particular, Turkey is currently seeking to open a tender to obtain 80 high-speed trains by the middle of this year, adding that the projected value of the investment will be nearly USD5-6 billion.
Moreover, Alstom is active in the fields of passenger transportation, signaling and locomotives, with products including the AGV, TGV, Eurostar, and Pendolino high-speed trains, in addition to metro trains.
"Our ministry has been working on a tender to buy 80 high-speed trains. This will be an investment worth around $5-6 billion. The tender may be held by the middle of this year," said a top Turkish official.
