KIA generates massive profits in China's market


(MENAFN) Kia Motors Corp., South Korea's 2nd-biggest automaker, has produced and sold more than 4 million cars in China since it opened its 1st local plant 14 years ago.

KIA sold a cumulative 4.04 million units of cars in China as of end-March, according to the data, and all of those cars were produced at its three local plants in operation there.

Back in 2002, the Seoul-based behemoth launched operations of its first China plant in Yancheong then it opened its second plant in the country in 2007 and third in 2014.

The K3 compact and K2 subcompact have led the carmaker's sales in the world's largest car market, hence they make up about 39pct and 28pct of its total sales there, respectively.
