Kazakhstan, Iran join forces to establish shipping line


(MENAFN) The Islamic Republic of Iran and Kazakhstan have reached an agreement to set up a joint shipping company, according to the latest reports.

The planned freight shipping line would improve mutual trade through the Iranian port of Bandar Anzali and Kazakh port of Aktau, both on the Caspian Sea.

Moreover, the Islamic Republic and Kazakhstan also decided to increase rail transportation through a railroad joining Iran, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan.

Iranian and Kazakh officials signed 66 documents on cooperation, worth USD2bn, in the public and private sectors, marking a turning point in mutual relations.
