QNB joins Teach For Qatar as partner
Doha: H E Sheikha Hind bint Hamad Al Thani Founder and Chairperson Teach For Qatar and Ali Ahmed Al Kuwari CEO Qatar National Bank (QNB) have formalised a partnership between both organisations.
QNB joins Teach For Qatar as its newest supporting partner as both sides share a commitment to advance education by contributing to the development of the local Independent school system.
Under the agreement QNB’s CEO will hold a seat on the Teach For Qatar Board of Directors. QNB will also endorse Teach For Qatar’s mission and vision with funding and networking opportunities. It will also support the Teach For Qatar secondment programme by offering its employees opportunity to join the Teach For Qatar Fellowship.
A two-year teaching and leadership development programme places novice teachers in Independent schools full-time for an opportunity to inspire the next generation of leaders from inside the classroom.
Mohammed Fakhroo CEO Teach for Qatar said “We are delighted to welcome QNB as our newest partner and we appreciate their support for our mission.
“We look forward to welcoming their team members into our next cohort through our secondment programme which is a unique opportunity for QNB employees to enhance leadership skills while contributing to the learning and development of our nation’s future leaders.”
Al Kuwari said “As the country’s first Qatari-owned commercial bank and a leading financial institution in the Middle East and North African region we have an obligation to give back to the community and we are delighted to join Teach For Qatar in its efforts to improve the local education sector in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.”
Teach For Qatar is a local non-governmental organisation (NGO) working as part of the solution to help solve challenges Qatar’s students face by reinvesting talented leaders into the Independent school system through a two-year leadership development and teaching programme.
Teach For Qatar hand-picks graduates and young professionals who wish to give back to the country — nationals or residents — by providing them the opportunity to inspire students through full-time employment in one of its partner independent schools. The Peninsula
