Jordan debts to SSC fall by 79 percent


(MENAFN) Municipalities owe the Social Security Department (SSC) only USD 5.62mn in unpaid subscription charges decreased from USD 26.72mn last year.

Accordingly, the value of debts declined after Zarqa city, which was the largest indebted entity, and the SSC touched a debt agreement which 32 dunums of land sold to the corporation.

In addition, the corporation has advised municipalities to pay subscription fees for their workers on a monthly basis in order to avoid debt growth.

The private sector recently owes the corporation almost USD 14.1mn in unpaid subscription charges, indicating that there are almost 15 firms that owe the SCC over USD 1.4mn.
