Kuwait- Russia US agree on holding meeting for Syria Feb. 11

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) MOSCOW Feb 4 (KUNA) -- Russia and the United States agreed on Thursday on holding a ministerial-level meeting for the international support group for Syria in Munich on February 11th.The agreement was reached in a telephone contact between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and the US Secretary of State John Kerry according to an official statement also noting that the planned meeting would address various plans aimed at settling the Syrian crisis according to UN resolution 2254.The two sides according to the official statement affirmed necessity that the Syrian government and the opposition take urgent measures to ensure delivery of humanitarian supplies to civilians in besieged regions in the country.They expressed regret that the negotiating process in Geneva had come to a halt and agreed to pursue efforts to try break the deadlock in the conciliation process.
