Saudi- Soccer stars take part in learning through entertainment event
(MENAFN- Arab News) RIYADH: The children's features center (Malameh)in Riyadh held workshops and activities for children as part of their learning through entertainment and activities initiative. Majid Abdullah Saeed Al Awaran and other soccer legends took part in the activities with the centers children in exercises aimed to develop their mental skills and learn through entertainment al. Dr. May Al Omar psychiatrist and consultant for King Abdulaziz Cultural center told Arabnews 'This initiative aims to show the importance of learning through activities and entertainment with a concentration on people with special needs such as autism.' she added by saying that all social age demographics can benefit from these activities and exercises and that there are programs aimed for children youth and the elderly as well.
'From the beginning kids need to have a concrete structure for their mental health and well being before interacting with their society and other children and this program will further develop their parents skills and theirs as well to enable them to develop their children's social and mental skills. Regarding youth if they do not have the proper social and mental infrastructure as children there are ways to ensure that there is intervention to help rectify any mental health issues that they may face. For the elderly they may fell that they are getting older and feel that they are becoming less valuable or productive or that society might not value them as much and there are exercise in this initiative to help them and their family members to ensure that they maintain a well balanced mental health through their twilight years.' explained Al Omar.
Dr. May also said that the center is planning on holding and event tentatively scheduled for next month with workshops and exercises for learning through entertainment and activities with various partners from the government and private sector such as the Prince Sultan Charity for humanitarian services and they are preparing for to have workshops and training sessions to develop interpersonal skills through exercises to help all children adults and elderly alike for a duration of five days that the initiative for learning through entertainment aims to further develop skills for parents teachers therapists and doctors skills in calibrating to ensure overall well balanced mental health for various social demographics. she concluded by adding that this approach been applied here in the Kingdom for over twenty years and her goal is to raise awareness and educate society on larger scale for learning through entertainment .
