One month countdown to 2016 Commercial Bank Qatar Masters begins

(MENAFN- Arab News) DOHA: Today marks just one month to go until the 2016 Commercial Bank Qatar Masters tees off at Doha Golf Club (27-30 January) and organizers sponsors players and golf course specialists are gearing up for Qatar's biggest annual sporting spectacular .
'One month to go means that Commercial Bank and all the committees are hard at work to make the 2016 Commercial Bank Qatar Masters a success' said Hassan Al Nuaimi President of the Qatar Golf Association.
Qatari amateurs Saleh Al Kaabi and Ali Al Shahrani both 21 are again aiming to qualify for the tournament with the hope of becoming the first local players to make the cut at the 2016 Commercial Bank Qatar Masters. 'One month to go means intensive training for us so a lot of early mornings with Saleh and the coach' said Al Shahrani.
Mike Elliott QGA national coach said: 'One month to go means an extra 2-3 hours of practice with the boys daily.' The coach who has won 65 professional tournaments when he used to play professionally has been coaching the Qatari golfers for five years and is optimistic about the boys playing their fourth Commercial Bank Qatar Masters this January.
The tournament organized by the Qatar Golf Association (QGA) the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) Doha Golf Club and long-term title sponsor Commercial Bank will welcome a star-studded lineup for the S2.5 million prize fund showpiece. The tournament's list of past champions includes former world No. 1s Ernie Els (2005) and Adam Scott (2002 and 2008) Ryder Cup stars Sergio Garcia (2014) Thomas Bjrn (2011) Henrik Stenson (2006) Paul Lawrie (1999 and 2012) and Robert Karlsson (2010) and two-time US Open Champion Retief Goosen (2007).
