5013 illegal expats arrested in Madinah
(MENAFN- Arab News) RIYADH: Security authorities have arrested 5013 illegal expats during the month of Safar in Madinah according to the district police.
Madinah police chief Maj. Gen. Abdul Hadi Al-Shahrani said his force arrested expatriates of different nationalities who have violated the labor and immigration regulations.
He added that the number of those arrested in Madinah since the campaign began has reached 104788.
He said the raids were carried out with cooperation of all relevant government agencies.
He said those arrested would be deported after a formal inquiry to ascertain the degree of their offenses.
He asserted that the campaign to flush out illegals from the region would continue.
The suspects include workers without iqamas persons with professions not mentioned in their iqamas those working for different sponsors runaway workers and also illegal vendors hawking at public market places.
During the operations the police had cordoned off the earmarked areas provinces villages and district suburbs.
