Triskelion Lions Cup Women's' Open Volleyball Tournament under way

(MENAFN- Arab News) RIYADH: The Triskelion International-Central Region Council launched the 9th Lions Cup Women's Open Volleyball tournament last Friday at the Kingdom Hospital Quadrangle.
Health workers including nurses doctors and medical staff of different nationalities across the Central Region with a passion for the game of volleyball
turned out for the opening ceremony of the event with the theme: 'We Rise by Lifting Others.'
Seeing action are more than 16 teams representing various hospitals international schools and Parent Teachers Associations of different nationalities across the Central Region.
Tournament Chairman John Merven Gamboa would like to thank the participating teams: Seder Group of Companies ( SEDER Lady Eagles ) Seder Group of Companies ( SEDER Chika Babes ) Kingdom Hospital King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center ( KFSH & RC) King Fahad Medical City (Al Babtain) Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib-Takhassusi Prince Mohammed Abdulaziz Hospital ( PMAH) Riyadh International School (RIS) Riyadh Care Hospital (RCH) Riyadh International School ( Friendship ) KKUH and NGHA (Strikers- Indomie) Security Forces Hospital ( Spikepunch ) Second Philippine International School (Lady Dragonz ) Second Philippine International School (Flying Dragonz) King Fahad National Guard Hospital (The Lady Slammers ) Eastern Province Hospital ( Eastern Lady Tigers) for their support and contribution toward the objective of this tournament to promote an active and healthy lifestyle.
'We care for the health of our Kababayans (compatriots) by playing volleyball so they can perform better at their workplace' said Gamboa.
Maan Aleta 8th Lions Cup Most Valuable Player said: 'Many Thanks to the Tau Gamma Phi/Sigma for organizing this tournament without their efforts this would not be possible which is not only makes the players enjoy but also help others as this is a tournament for a cause.'
Cultural Officer Gloria Jean Castano-Zafra of the Philippine Embassy in Riyadh attended the tourament opening day.
According to TI-CRC Chairman Christopher Reyes volleyball tournament is a fun way to raise money for our beneficiaries in the Philippines and Saudi Arabia such as:1.Tahanan ni Maria (Home for the Aged) an institution in the Philippines that caters to both male and female elderly who are abandoned neglected and needy; 2.Distressed (OFWs) Victims of domestic violence who want to return home or move to safety as well as provision of basic necessities.
TI-CRC has been organizing the Lions Cup Women's Open Volleyball tournament successfully for the last 9 years said Reyes.
The opening day was attended by the main sponsors including Mohammad Akbar Regional Marketing Manager of Indomie Ronald Rosel Operations Director of Little Caesars Noe Ompoc General Manager of First Cloud Cargo Centerpoint Fawri and Cebu Pacific representatives.
