Ivory Coast cabinet will not be changed
(MENAFN- The Journal Of Turkish Weekly) Ivory Coast President Alassane Ouattara stood pat on Wednesday on the country’s present ministry cabinet and declared it would not be changed the day after he was sworn for another five-year term in office.
Speaking at the cabinet meeting Ouattara said: "I have decided to continue with the same team and our current Prime Minister Daniel Kablan Duncan will lead the government.”
The government holds 31 ministers headed by Prime Minister Duncan who also serves as minister of economy and finance and budget.
Ouattara a former International Monetary Fund official was re-elected in the first round of the presidential election on Oct. 25 receiving 83.66 percent of the vote.
The poll was the country’s first presidential race since a deadly bout of post-electoral violence between 2010 and 2011 led to the deaths of some 3000 people according to the UN.
Since 2011 Ouattara has been credited with steering the country through a period of economic growth following a brief civil war in 2011 sparked by former President Laurent Gbagbo’s refusal to accept the election result.
