Oman invites 9 firms to bid for huge port development


(MENAFN) Nine domestic and global logistics services providers have been invited by the Omani government to bid for a license to operate and manage the country's first dry port in South Al Batinah.

Additionally, this kind of mainstream projects is aimed at positioning the Sultanate as a logistics gateway for the wider region, thus gaining it potential business partners and guaranteed long-term profits.

In particular, the successful bidder will secure a license for the long-term lease and operation of an inland port facility that will form the centerpiece of the ambitious South Al Batinah Logistics Area development.

However, attention is currently focused on Block A which is a roughly three kilometer area that will host some of the crucial fundamentals necessary to kick-start this landmark development.
