Oman, Iran sign huge LNG agreement
(MENAFN) Oman has closed a deal with Iran to convert part of the latter's gas to LNG (liquefied natural gas) in the gulf country, according to the latest data.
Iran intends to allocate the unused capacity in Omani plants to Iranian LNG, let alone that 25 percent of the volumes of Omani LNG production plants is unused.
The contract with Oman is drawn up in two stages of which one is basic marine engineering studies, and the next would be selecting a contractor to construct pipelines.
In more detail, the project of transferring gas from Kish field to Oman will involve a 200 km pipeline; in the first phase, one billion cubic feet of gas will be transferred.
