Oman to award USD1b Duqm project to 1 of 9 top bidders


(MENAFN) Nine prominent global marine engineering companies have been prequalified by the Omani government to join in a tender for the building of a top Bulk Liquid Berths Terminal at the Port of Duqm.

Additionally, the winning bidder will guarantee a USD1 billion contract, to take on the detailed design, dredging, reclamation, and jetty works for the new Bulk Liquid Berths Terminal in the Port of Duqm, based on the authorities data.

The involved firms are; Boskalis Westminster Middle East Oman, Hyundai Engineering, Van Oord Oman, Tecnicas Reunidas, Consolidated Contractors, China Harbor Engineering, Huta Marine Works, and Penta Ocean Construction.

Bulk liquid terminating and storage is a key factor of the infrastructure being established at Duqm Port to support the development of a main liquids hub as part of the Special Economic Zone Authority's logistics offerings.
