Iran ships USD70m worth of fish, shrimps to Russia


(MENAFN) Iran is prepared to ship dairy products to Russia as part of an agreement for sourcing food during Moscow's ban on such imports from Europe.

22,000 metric tons of shrimps and fish, worth USD70 million, were exported to Russia in the March-July period, according to the Iranian Fisheries Organization.

Russian imports of Iranian dairy, milk, meat and seafood has been planned for some time but the wait for the first shipments has taken longer than expected.

Russia has been eyeing for new sources of agricultural products after banning imports of fruit, vegetables and dairy products from Europe, the US and Canada.
