Palestine calls for emergency meeting on Israeli aggression

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Palestine on Sunday called for holding an emergency meeting next Tuesday at the level of permanent delegates of the Arab League Council to discuss the Israeli aggression at Al-Aqsa Mosque and Jerusalem.
Palestine asked the league to hold an emergency meeting to discuss and take measures against continued escalation of violence resulting from the Israeli attacks on Palestinian people, said the Arab League's Deputy Secretary General Ambassador Ahmad bin Helli in a press statement Sunday.
The meeting will touch on the Arab steps taken in response to unprecedented Israeli violations against the sanctities in Jerusalem and the desecration acts committed by Israeli extremists in Al-Aqsa Mosque under the protection of the Israeli authorities, he added.
On his part, Muhannad Al-Aklouk, Palestine's permanent delegate to the league, said that the league's extraordinary session will discuss the topic of providing the international protection to Palestinians in accordance with the international law and the protection of sanctities in Jerusalem.
He added the challenge is how to translate the decisions of the league into measures aiming to deter the Israeli aggression and protect Al-Aqsa Mosque.
