Jordan- Interior minister, Belgian ambassador discuss ties, region
(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Interior Minister Salameh Hammad on Thursday discussed with Belgian Ambassador to Jordan Hendrik van de Velde, ways to boost bilateral ties, mainly in the security field, as well as the latest developments in the region.
Hammad stressed the need to benefit from the security expertise of both countries to enhance stability in the region and fight all forms of crime and terrorism.
On the crisis in Syria, the minister said Jordan is exerting efforts to deal with the impact of the crisis and the pressure it is placing on the Kingdom due to the presence of a large number of Syrian refugees. "Jordan is desperately in need of the support of the international community and organizations to overcome the impact of the Syrian crisis," he added.
The ambassador highlighted the importance of Jordan's role in enhancing security and stability in the region.
