Samsung TV market secures top place in Q2

(MENAFN) South Korean tech giant Samsung Electronics Co. has secured its top place in the global television market in the second quarter, accounting for 28.5 percent of the market, adding 1.4 percentage points from the first quarter.
Samsung's local rival, LG Electronics Inc., came in second place with 14.1 percent, followed by Japan's Sony Corp. with 7.3 percent and China's Hisense with 5.5 percent, reports showed.
Samsung dominated the curved TV market on from its premium lineups, taking up 80.7 percent of the total, and in more detail, its ultra-high-definition (UHD) TVs took up 36.4 percent to top the list for the sixth successive quarter.
