Veolia profits double to USD352m in H1
(MENAFN) Western management giant Veolia said its profits more than doubled in the January-June period of this year, hitting USD352 million and attributed to a cost-cutting plan.
The French company, which specializes in water distribution, waste, recycling and energy, said in a statement it announced that its turnover also rose by 7.3 percent to USD13.46 billion.
It have saved USD120.4 million in the first six months from cutting costs, adding up the savings of USD755.4 million it has made since the end of 2011, aiming to reduce costs by a total of USD821 million.
"All our indicators are in very clear growth... in only the first six months of the year the group has net results equal to the whole of 2014," said CEO Antoine Frerot in a statement.
