UAE embassy in Morocco oversees distribution of Zakat alms


(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) The UAE Embassy in Rabat, in cooperation with the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), has overseen the distribution of Zakat al-Fitr, a mandatory charity given to the poor at the end of Holy Fasting Month of Ramadan, to 6558 underprivileged people.

Acting Charge d'Affaires of the UAE Embassy, Saeed Muhair Al Ketbi, oversaw the delivery of the Zakat al-Fitr funds, presented by the ERC, to the heads of local humanitarian agencies and charities from across Morocco.

Thuraya Ben Dahman, head of the Al Ismailia Society for the Disabled, noted that the Zakat al-Fitr given by the ERC alleviated the suffering of the underprivileged and shows the agency's humanitarian efforts.
