KSA slams Israel for crimes in Palestine


(MENAFN- Arab News) GENEVA: Saudi Arabia has welcomed the report of the International Fact Finding Commission on Israeli aggression in Gaza and has lauded its effort to prepare the report despite noncooperation from Israel which did not allow the committee to do its work. Saudi Arabia's Permanent Representative to the UN in Geneva Faisal Trad quoted the chairperson of the commission Mary McGowan Davis and said the extent of destruction and human suffering in the Gaza Strip after the unprecedented Israeli aggression would affect generations to come.
He highlighted Israel's rejection of UN resolutions which include resolutions of the Security Council General Assembly and Human Rights Council and that it does not respect any rights including human moral and ethical legal and international.
Trad said this report has again shown that Israel is the greatest violator of human rights in the world which has been happening year after year.
He said the international community particularly the Security Council and the Human Rights Council has the responsibility to stop these violations which will not end till the Palestinian people get back their rights Israel's brutal occupation of Palestinian lands ends and an independent Palestinian state is established with Jerusalem as its capital.
The report said that these actions amount to war crimes committed by Israel and its sectarian regime during the aggression which continued for 51 days resulting in the deaths of over 2000 people out of which 1066 people died inside their homes.
Among the dead were 370 children and 241 women and thousands were wounded during 6000 attacks. Their only crime was that they were demanding their freedom and rights.
