Abu Dhabi's consumer prices up 0.2 percent in May
(MENAFN) According to the latest data released by the Statistics Center Abu Dhabi (Scad), consumer prices in the emirate edged up 0.2 percent in May compared to April, Gulf News reported.
Abu Dhabi region accounted for the lion's share of the inflation rate, contributing 71.6 percent of the overall increase, followed by Al Ain (18.7 percent), and the Western Region (9.7 percent).
The food and beverage category saw the largest increase last month, with a 2.8 percent increase compared to April 2015. In Al Ain, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) went up 0.1 percent.
In terms of welfare level, the Scad report showed an increase of 0.5 percent in consumer prices for households of the bottom welfare quintile, and 0.4 percent for households of the middle welfare level.
