Saudi- Fraudulent labeling of goods detected
(MENAFN- Arab News) As many as 27000 pieces of sanitary ware manufactured in China with 'Made in Germany' labels have been seized by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MCI).
The confiscated items include water heaters taps and mixers during raids in Riyadh Eastern Province Makkah Qassim and Asir last week at the warehouses of sanitary ware companies.
The ministry has been making efforts to make sure there is no fraud or customer exploitation in the sale and marketing of any counterfeit or adulterated goods.
The ministry said that it would harshly punish violators and those involved in fraudulent practice or activities that put the health and safety of consumers at risk.
It has appealed to consumers to contact the ministry's communications center on phone number 1900 or use its smartphone application to report complaints and comments.
