UAE imports USD199.3m of Swedish wood
(MENAFN) The UAE imported a total of USD199.3 million worth of wood from Sweden, marking 25 percent of the European country's wood exports to the region, Emirates News Agency reported.
Sweden exported 3 million cubic meters of wood to the region, which is equivalent to USD797.3 million in worth. The UAE of course topped the list as the number one importer of Swedish wood.
"We look at the UAE as a hub to boost our exports of wood to all over the region. We compete with Russia and Finland in exporting wood to the Middle East." An official familiar with the report said.
